If anyone can give any advice on how to find an attorney with a low, reasonable retainer, or that allows payment plans so it's not all up-front, or will let me authorize charges out of the retainer before they are used (in which case someone is willing to loan me the money, but ONLY in that case), please help. I am in Northern Virginia. I know I'm not the only low income person on this forum dragged into a custody case - how did others handle these outrageous thousands of dollars retainers and fees? Did you get any fee arrangement that maybe I could ask for? Thank you.
