what to do when attorney withdraws.
      #789726 - 08/13/12 04:28 AM

I hired an attorney to modify my child custody and child support. My attorney got everything started, then my ex. Decides to start his own court proceedings against me. To make long story short. My funding for my attorney ran out and I told her I would pay off my balance in september. She did not want to wait for payment and she has withdrawn from my case. I have a trial set for August 20th and don't know how to represent myself. I won't have funds for attorney until sept. Does anyone have any advice they can give me?

I'm not an lawyer but I am going through a divorce broke as well. Check with the court clerk directly. Go to the court house. They are very helpful but can not give you legal advice. You can see your court divorce file at any time and ask about filing dates. They will probably direct you to people who can help you file your own court papers. The first might be a (motion to postpone) any hearings until you can get legal consel. Another is to go to your local library and find out your states laws. Do not miss filing answers to motions on time and don't give up! Go get a copy of your complete file. Make sure you check it every few days at the court house until you also file that you currently have no lawyer so "YOU" recieve all correspondence regarding your case - Not your former attorney. ;)

hi ! i can recommend one... My lawyer is recommended by friend
I have spoken once on the phone to make appointment.
And twice: once to discuss about my divorce and another to sign the doc. Very easy and the most pleasant experience
