What's the differences between an encumberment and miscellaneous? I notice you will find them in different parts of throughout the divorce decree

Encumberment is synonymous with encumbrance. In general it means impediment or obstacle. In real estate it means a mortgage or lien. Miscellaneous means sundry other things. There isn't enough context to guess at what the words refer to put together like that. Can you quote a whole sentence?

It usually infers hiding money or trying to mislead on the financial disclosure.
