I am curious as to who has jurisdiction. I am a divorced dad with primary custody of my son. Divorced and custody completed in PA. I requested to relocate and gave the relocation notice to my ex and altered the visitation which we both agreed to. I filed the documents (pro-se) through the courts but just recently inquired (a year later) as to whatever happened to the order. I just found out that the court would not entertain the proposal because I didnt use the court formats (wording and including a distribution list). I have now been living in Md for just over a yr, my ex wife has been doing the custody exchange and visitation as agreed. (we meet half way..about a 45 min drive for each one way) I am not sure who has jurisdication in this matter. Since we have established residency in MD, does it go through MD, or do I need to reaccomplish in PA?

If Mom does not object, you could easily file it through the MD courts, where you and the child are a resident.

MOST states have a six month residency rule, you will be fine.

How old is the child? Assuming he's older, young teenager or older, I wouldn't worry about who has jurisdiction; you only need to know if you're planning on further changing the order. If you're leaving it as is, it shouldn't matter.
