non custodial parent stopped showing up
      #802632 - 05/03/13 12:34 PM

We live in South Dakota where my husband is the main custody parent over his 5 year old child. The mother of the child that has joint custody stopped showing up to pick up her daughter for almost 3 months now. The story is really complicated where i have an protection order against her for assault and after that she stopped picking up her child 2 days during the week and just pick the child up for the weekends but now that even stopped. The times she did came pick up the child it would scream because it would not go with her. Is there anything we could do against this?

P.s. not sure if it would matter but i heard it does... She is native and the child is half native

My words of wisdom are to stop calling the child "it"

I noticed the same thing, but I took is as a method of hiding the gender of the child on a public board.

Why give a "senior" discount, they have had plenty of time to raise the money...

The calling of the child "it" struck me too and I hope that gr8 is correct and the gender is being hidden...

The only thing I know about being Native is that they have different rules and can try to get court issues heard in tribal court and not family court and it can be difficult to take the child or limit the time with the native parent regardless of inconsistency I would check with the local tribal court and see what they say.
