For the long term members of the group

For those who are long term members, back to the days when the name of this forum was Recovery from Divorce and operated under the old setup where registration was not mandatory, I have some sad news to relay.

You may remember Lyn Ferrie that posted from NJ. She was divorced from a long term marriage and we ended up as email buddies, along with Bacall and Lyn and I were Facebook friends. Had not heard from her or seen anything on FB, for a few weeks. I went to her page and there was message there from her son that she had passed away.

Lyn (along with many other "old timers" here) was such a tremendous help to me when I found this site and group back in 2002 when my my 30 year marriage ended when my ex left. It was a divorce I did not want but now feel blessed that it happened. Lyn was a rock for me (as were others) and we stayed in touch and had hoped to meet in her life one day. I will always be thankful to DS for the bridge it provided for me to meet some great folks here whose stories encouraged me to feel that my life would get better, the emotional support was tremendous back then as it was a very active group. There is a celebration of her life planned for June (30th I think) and I will be celebrating the fact that I had her as an online friend and how much she helped me. I will miss her.

I'm sorry to hear that, Karen. I don't remember Lyn although I do remember you. I also don't remember when I first came here. I'm glad, for your sake, you found comfort in your friendship with her. Hold those good thoughts and she'll always be with you.
