Hi All,
Okay, I just posted a long reply to a poster and hit the submit key and the board responded that I was no longer logged on. This has happened numerous times in the recent past.
Anyway, I log on again, and then try and retrieve my reply to post and it's been wiped off the face of the earth. Try hitting the back key thinking I can retrieve it that way; doesn't work; try forward key; doesn't work either. It's just gone. So all the time and thought I put into writing a response disappears. Arggghhhh... So frustrating....
Anyone have a clue as to why this happens? Or what I'm doing wrong? I know I've logged on when this happens, but it seems the board logs me off without my knowledge or any warning. Btw, this doesn't happen with any other board, just this one. Thanks.

No clue on this. I have not had this happen YET. Since it does not happen to you on any other board, I would say the problem lies with DS and not your system. This has to be frustrating. Have you contacted DS yet? Karen

That's happened to me a couple of times. Now, I copy whatever I'm sending before I hit the "submit" button....login again and paste it.
I have no idea why it happens. My guess is some kind of timer on being "inactive" between starting your post and finally sending it to the board.

You can only stay logged on for a certain amount of time on one page, then you have to change the page to stay logged in. So if you are going to write a long response, the best thing to do is open a writing program like MSWord and write your response there, then log in and copy it.
I think the idea is to encourage SHORT responses. LOL.

So what you're all saying is that the site sets a timer for posting or responding or it logs you off. So once I sit down to write a post I should complete it right then and there and not step away from the computer to unload/reload the dishwasher, answer the phone, or start dinner! Gotta speed things up, type away, and then submit, or wham! whatever I write disappears into cyberland forever, lol. However at least, as a couple of you have suggested, the alternative would be to type a post elsewhere and then copy it here. What a pain though. Oh well what can you do?
In any case, thanks again for your responses :).

Hi Melanie, The same thing happened to me after typing a very long post. It is sooo....frustrating when that happens.
I think it automatically times you out after a certain period of time.
Hope all is well with you.

I typed response too soon... later on I also lost a response post and had to re type it. I am not thinking too highly of this change. I thought changes were supposed to make things better... don't think it happened with the change DS made. Karen
