DAFS & Cild Support

Once the garnishment is sent to DFAS certified mail, how long does it take to start getting Child Support to the CP? I do know that nothing has been held out of his pay, yet.

I want to say that mine took less than 6 weeks. Depends on when they get it in the pay cycle and how backed up they are. But remember that DFAS only sends it once a month - at the begining of the month. Once it is sent to your local court or DES office it can take several weeks depending on how accurate their system is.

You can call DFAS and they will tell you if it has been processed yet.
