dilemma....

can someone please help me with my problem..i was married to my ex for 10 years my divorce was finalized last year in boston, mass.i may be entitled for a percentage of my ex's ret.pay, but this was not included in the final decree for the reason that mass. has no jurisdiction on him and his "properties"...what should i do?he is from illinois this is his residence, should i file a divorce there?will that be legal when mass. already granted me one?

If you are already divorced, then you can't file for a new one.

And you only have a certain amount of time to appeal the court ruling in the divorce. I'm pretty sure that the time limit has passed. But you can always check and see for sure.

Was any property divided, and was it a default judgement or did he participate in any of the proceedings?

There are a few things that you will need to do to even try and have a chance of getting anything out of it.
1st- Where you married for 10yrs while he was in the military? because it must have been 9.51 consecuative yrs while he was serving in the military.
2nd- look into federal legislature requirements on such issues. I would suggest taking a look at the newest version of the Uniformed Serices Former Spouse Protection Act (USFSPA).
