Child support

Live in Maryland and have been separated since October. My husband is paying the second mortgage on the house and Im paying the primary mortgage. We have one 14 year old boy and I have not received any child support because he says hes paying the second mortgage. Can he do this?

Yes and even can even choose not to pay the 2nd mortgage.

Not until a judge orders anything, does he have to pay anything and that goes for you, too.

the key here is that you are still married -- and you do not indicate that there is a legal separation with any maintenance or child support ordered. -- why would you think that anyone would pay you anything unless it were ordered?

If he is paying the 2nd mortgage, then he is continuing to support the child.
