I got a very long winded voice mail from the attorney at DCSE about a May 7th hearing with the ex. He basically said....my presence is necessary....um really necessary and will be helpful. The Judge has requested your attendance, although, it is not mandatory. Here is my quandry....I am out of "sick or vacation" days for the year (I took most of my time in Oct. when my daughter cut off her fingers) so....do I take a non paid day chasing a dead beat? I will loose about 400.00 on my June check? Is it possible to testify by phone? Is it possible to write my thoughts and have them notorized? It is 50/50 if he shows up or not on May 7th.

I would call the court house and see whether you can call in for the hearing. My ex called in for our CSE hearing.

Hope you don't mind me asking but how did your daughter cut off her fingers? You might have already posted about this but I missed it. how is she doing?

she slammed them in the door. She has recovered very nicely. Most of the nerves have rejun. and maybe, given her young age, they will continue to grow and connect. When one looks at them it looks ok....her one nail looks some what "small" and both look like maybe she was once burned badly. TY for asking

There are times when things aren't about $400 - and this is one of those.

If you would end up getting your CS, you would end up with more than $400.

Or, if your ex gets jail time, the look on his face would be worth $400.

I say go.

Yes, you can request a telephone hearing. Contact the courthouse to see what you need to do to set it up.

Your daughter cut off her fingers???????
