I guess this is sort of a fathers rights issue but it really should concern everyone. Verizon is currently running an ad that they call "The Elliots" We call it the "Leave her alone" commercial. In it, a dad tries to help his daughter with her homework on the computer. He acts like he knows nothing & the daughter makes a snide remark & shoots her mother a look that seems to say,"Get this idiot out of here." The mother tells him to go wash the dog. When he doesn't go, she tells him to "leave her alone". When he still doesn't doesn't go, she yells at him & he leaves, looking totally whipped.
The main problem is that our children & grand children are seeing this & being taught that it is alright to disrespect dad & mom will help.
The American family is in enough trouble without companies like Verizon sending this message. You can see the commercial, if it is not running in your area, at www.hisside.com Please visit the site. All the contacts & addresses are there. We need to continue the public outcry against these kinds of commercials. Please write & tell them to stop disparaging fathers & families.
