So furious with manager
      #413773 - 06/15/08 03:51 PM

First I want to say that I am so glad I found this second job I am working. It sucks that I'm working all the time now but I know once I get on full-time with this 2nd one it is going to have many more opportunities than my first one could ever give me.

On to why I am steaming: We just hired two new girls for the front desk. Well, we had hired one full-time first and I've been training her on the 3rd shift so I wasn't available to interview the 2nd one so my GM did. I had seen the girl when she turned in her application, that was IT! I saw her for like 5 minutes and all I did was tell my GM that she seemed nice and was willing to take the part-time position we had (which is VERY hard to fill). So, my GM interviewed her and the next day told me that she thought she was very nice, etc. So since we needed someone really bad we agreed to go ahead and hire her. Well, I don't know what happened on my one day off (friday) but I got an email from my GM that read: "Nicole, I think you made a bad mistake with ****** (new girl). She might come around."

I made the mistake? My GM is the one that interviewed her and told me SHE thought she was nice. And to top it off I was reading this email at midnight while I'm at work having to do the stupid 3rd shift and it set me off. I fired an email right back to her and told her that I wasn't the one that interviewed her that I had only said that I thought she seemed nice. And that she had thought she was nice as well. But that I didn't feel that the blame should have been solely put on me. She hasn't wrote me back yet. I don't care. I was/am still pissed.

I guess since I'm pretty much decided that as long as this 2nd job hires me on full-time in 3 months that I am going to go there that I have really started noticing what a b*tch my GM is. Not usually to me but to the other employees. She definatly favors the ones she likes and makes the others feel like dirt.

I hate bosses like that, I've had a few myself. They think they have all the power because they have a title...truth is, without good employees (like yourself) they wouldn't be worth a crap. I hope the other place see's your potential and hires you full time. :)

Well, so far I've had really good praises from my managers over at my 2nd job. I'm pretty sure they will put me on full-time I just have to wait 3 months like everyone else.

She called a few minutes ago and I was pretty short with her. I don't like to get into things on the phone so I want to talk to her on Tuesday (next time I see her). That will also give me some time to think it through.
