Who's been to Europe. My ex is taking my kids to Europe for 2 weeks in July? They are going to London, Scotland, Venice and Rome. I've never been there an have NO idea how to pack them. Will be it hot or cold? What's appropriate? Can they wear jeans and sneakers, like we do here?

The climate is roughly the same, and yes they can. pack like you would for a vacation here and they will be fine. You might want to tell them to check the voltages, its been awhile since I was there, but it was different, who knows there may be transformers (no, not the movie kind) where they are going, but better safe than sorry.

weather.com should be able to give you some information on the average temperatures in the cities your kids will be at the time of year they will be there.

I would expect London and Scotland would be reasonably comfortable that time of year. I was in England last August and it was very nice. Rome and Venice will likely be scorching hot.

looooved it there.
check the weather channel.com to see about temperatures in those areas and pack around that. more than likely it will be mild to warm.
they can wear jeans and sneakers and maybe take one or two dresses for nice dinner.
electronics or electrical gadgets may need an adapter for the voltage differences there. word to the wise - don't just start plugging things into the outlets unless you like seeing smoke tendrils...

If you can wait until next week, I can ask DH. He is going all next week! He leaves Sunday, back on Friday...
EDIT to add: He will be in London and Scotland.

They usually sell adapters at the airport. I know for sure France and England have different electrical receptors so you couldn't accidently plug in a North American appliance even if you tried. I believe Italy is the same.
Personally, I think it's best to leave the gadgets home. It would seem a shame to take the kids all that way only to have them spend the whole time on their Zune/Nintendo etc. They could stay home and do that.

I would pack some skirts or skorts. I believe that some of the churches don't allow women to wear shorts inside. I went to Europe, but it's been awhile. They definitely need comfortable walking shoes.

My sister's ex is getting his Masters in England. He bought her a camera and needed to buy the adapter to charge it here in the U.S.
She told my DH he could borrow it while he is away.

I lived in Europe for more than three years.
First summer there, froze my ass off. Second summer there, people were dropping dead due to the heat. Most places do NOT have AC. Italy will be the nicest place-weather wise. If you look at the map, most of Europe is longitudinally the same as Canada.
