Well, we made it! My youngest SS is 18 today. It was a long journey to get him here, but he is becoming a fine young man. We had a nice dinner with a few of his friends and some cake/ice cream. Nothing too fancy, just a bbq with friends. He loved it...
It's hard to believe that all the years of child support and custody/visitation issues are finally over. It is such a relief my friends, I can't even tell you how much. We have been putting the CS received for SS in a savings account for the past six months (ever since I got promoted and two raises since Dec.) and we gave him a nice fat check tonight to get him started in college. He was shocked, because we didn't tell him we were doing it. LOL
So I am just kinda sittin' here basking in the glow of success. I know my SS is a better person for having lived with us and he will go far in life. Every sacrifice and heartache as well as every joy was worth it.
I am looking forward to life without teenage angst for a while. My son is only 9, so I figure I have a few years before the drama starts back up. LOL

Congrats!!! I am happy that life is treating you better these days. You definitely deserve some peace and happiness. Just knock on wood to make sure you don't jinx it.:)

That is so exciting!!! I had my own trouble with my daughter that nearly gave me a nervous breakdown...now I am at a point where I enjoy her! Yay! But sadly I still have the stress with SD and I see no end...ever...to that. I envy you for not only surviving, but surviving well!!!

yes, congrats to TGSM and i can't wait to be done with BM either!!! if you survived all the years without killing her (kidding) you've got a great accomplishment under your belt! LOL

Congrat's! My husband's youngest graduated this month and we are waiting till he turns 18 in September. I'm jealous your're done before us!
