So, I have a Konica Minolta Magicolor 2400W color laser printer at work. It's MINE. Well, for work purposes. No one else uses it. I use it a LOT. So, I was getting low on toner, and told the girl who orders supplies I needed more. She gets the #s off my printer and orders. "I got a GREAT deal!!". Yeah, you got a GREAT deal because it's not the Konica Minolta brand. So, now my printer HATES it because even though it's the right toner cartridge #, they are proprietary, so it doesn't want to use it. At first it would use it, but gave me nasty grams about using it. Now IT WON'T WORK AT ALL!!!!
Did I mention I'm behind on work? Work NEVER stops here. I've had 16MILLION things to do today and have to send everythign to another printer that doesn't print color at all, and walk to the other end of the building each time I print something or call the receptionist to do it for me.
And the girl who orders supplies doesn't get it at all. It's a good thing I don't have a window in my office or I'd throw the damn thing out it. SIGH

I did that once with my home printer...got the no-name printer cartridges. They lasted a few uses and then my printer freaked out. Wouldn't print anything! So, instead of saving myself a couple of bucks, I ended up wasting money since I had to go buy the HP ones and recycled the crap ones.

Will refilling those original manufacturer cartridges work? That might save you some cash. We have a number of desktop printers at work and I use Cartridge World to refill the cartridges. 14 printers and I save almost $200 bucks a month. The best part? Because its a commercial account they pickup and drop off - all I do is call. Tell your printer person to ck it out. It might be worth it to her.

Our purchasing person did that to us too. Even though I told him I had tried other brands and had little luck. The Office Depot brand did work okay but he switched to some online crap and we had 3 printers down at one time and a big project to do. It was a mess....after I charged all my OT that week and went and bought HP they decided to switch back. I only work PT so for me to have OT showed it wasted allot of time and money.
