Question about salary and expenses
      #440752 - 08/17/08 08:54 PM

I am about to start the divorce process. I am looking towards trying for a someone simple divorce settlement to expedite things and move on with life.

There is a house involved that is paid for. I am sure she would like to keep it and I am OK with that for my half of equity. There are a couple cars and an old collectors car. A house full of new furniture, etc.

Looking at Iowa Asset documents they ask about salary and expenses. I don't understand why? We have a daughter above the age of 18 so there will be no child support.

I should want to get half my equity in stuff as I am late 40s and really cant start over again.

It seems it would be as simple as splitting assets? If it matters I am self employed and W2s are 1/2 of hers.

Thanks all.
