My boyfriend is considering agreeing to a divorce from bed and board so his wife can continue to receive health insurance. My questions regarding this are: 1. Is there a set amount of time for this 'phase' or does it remain in effect until he requests the absolute? 2. What is the procedure to qo from B/B to absolute? My concern is that it's kind of like starting from scratch taking months of time and additional legal fees. Can she contest it? 3. If she doesn't contest, on average how long does it take from the time he requests until the absolute is granted and final? Thanks in advance to anyone that responds!

>>>>>>>>> An absolute divorce can be commenced at any time grounds exist or 1 year after living seperately under a bed & board decree .
What is the procedure to qo from B/B to absolute?
>>>>>>>>>> Filing the proper paperwork and a hearing .
My concern is that it's kind of like starting from scratch taking months of time and additional legal fees. Can she contest it?
>>>>>>>>>> She could try to contest the terms but the divorce would be granted after a year seperation .
If she doesn't contest, on average how long does it take from the time he requests until the absolute is granted and final?
>>>>>>>>>> Depends on how busy the courts are , minmum of 30 days .
-------------------- Careful. We don't want to learn from this.
