I am a divorced Christian mother and I am dating a divorced Christian father (sad I know). This Christmas holiday my children went to their dads on Christmas day and I went to my boyfriends parents house late that night for Christmas. It is a 2 hour drive for me to come home and his parents told me I could just stay the night. They have extra bedrooms. I slept in one room with his oldest daughter who wanted to sleep with me because she is older (she is 9). His youngest daughter slept with him in the other bedroom, and his son slept in the living room. His parents of course were in the master bedroom. His ex is now complaining of cohabitation law being violated. She is also griping that his daughter slept with me. Does she have any grounds for a case.

In all of the similar posts on here, I have never heard of a 'cohabitation law.'
There are some people who have been able to get a 'no overnight guests of the opposite sex' clause put into their divorce orders. If their divorce decree has that clause in there, she could file for contempt if you stayed at his house, but I don't think she can do anything about his parents inviting you to stay there.
Ask him to read through his CO.

Spending the night at his parent's house is not cohabitation. Cohabitation meanings living together. The court order cannot dictate who can spend the night at HIS PARENTS house. She is being ridiculous.

I personally wouldn't want my daughter sleeping with a strange woman either. You're not her Mother and she's gonna throw a stink about it. She could end up getting a clause specifically to prevent it from happening again in the future.
Crazy what people choose to fight about...

Have to agree with mommy here.....I think my temper would be sorely tested if I was advised that my daughter had slept with a female not her mother.
Why didn't all the kids camp out in the LR and the two of you slept in separate bedrooms? That would have been reasonable.....or the two of you camp out in the LR and the kids slept in the bedrooms.
Your boyfriend's mother was kind to let you stay but to sleep with your boyfriend's daughter wasn't really appropriate -- would you want your ex's girlfriend sleeping with YOUR child? Or your ex sleeping with a male child of his girlfriend?
I can completely understand her point on this one, there was a huge error in judgement here.

You think a court would order any and everything imagineable. Have you ever been to court?

Yeah, I have. I have clauses that state two of my girls MUST share a bedroom, and a clause that states I can alter, reschedule, or cancel my ex's visitation for just about any reason under the sun, as long as I feel it's in the children's best interest. I have a clause saying he MUST continue taking the children to our church, etc...
It's all in how you tell the story. A judge WILL order about anything if you know what you're doing and show that it's in the kids' best interests.

99% of people don't share that experience. You either had an ex that did not show to court or did not fight anything you say.
My husband has ridiculous things in his order, but that is because his ex did not show up and that really screwed her over.

My ex has never missed a court date. I'm just very good at documenting and showing how ______ is in the best interests of the children.
