What does commingled means?

Ok so I guess you can tell Iam ignorant of divorce issues.
Iam thinking of getting a divorce and someone told me I cant touch my wife house or stock and securities(they were inherited) unless they were commingled ecc.And what is seed money? Thank You.

"Seed money"? Far as I know it is money that is usually used to start-up a business. You know, you want to grow a garden,what do you do? You plant seeds. You want to grow a business? You use money.

"Commingled" means, again.. as far as I know... money that is not just "yours" or not just "hers" but it is tangled together. If you both put a dollar in the cookie jar at the end of the day? It's neither "your" money or "her" money, it's "your" money. It's blended together, all inside the cookie jar.

When assets are inherited, they belong solely to that person. As long as your spouse held them in a separate account (or in the case of the real estate, did not put both names on the deed), they kept them unmingled and protected from divorce actions.

Seed money is money used to start something up, usually a business but could be any other venture or purchase or investment that is expected to grow and build equity.
