I left my husband and got a restraining order for my protection. 2 weeks later he filed papers and canceled my insurance and was due to start my next round of chemo witch I have to do for a year. Is this legal? I have not worked since I moved here to be with him and just been getting by on my savings. He works and makes 80K and has all the bennies through his work. I'm staying with friends while he has all the comforts of home. Can he get away with this??

get legal advice ASAP. you only have 20 days to respond.
I believe, it was illegal for him to cancel the insurance. Sounds like you should also be able to get spousal support. Get informed!!!
There are some free legal clinics in some community centers, or you can schedule appointments with attorneys who give 30 mins. free consultations. tell them you are 'shopping for an attorney' and after the consultation walk away to think about if that was the right attorney for you. I saw 5! and got 2 hours worth of information. Good luck!

Most insurance companies permit a spouse to remain on medical insurance until they are no longer a spouse --
Count on having to provide your own medical insurance when your divorce is final -- at that time, your ex will have no insurable insterest in you nor will his insurance company. So at some point, you'll have to insure yourself.
