Question on divorce settlement proposal

My proposal was written up by my ex's lawyer and there is a part on it that states the children are only to call their biological parents mom and dad. I've never heard of this. Can that really be requested?

Dumb and unenforceable. So if the child called a new spouse by the name, then they would be in contempt of court.

Sometimes it may be put in when someone jumps into new relationship and insists that the kids call the new spouse mommy or daddy. Not good for the kids and the courts will put in wording like that to keep that instance from happening. But a court can't enforce what the kids do or say on their own. They will typically only admonish the parties if it become an issue, or take more drastic measures, like limiting or supervising visits, if a parent engages in inappropriately forcing the kids into new relationships like that on a continual basis, or ignore it if it is a non-issue.
