Is she suffering from a mental illness?

A family member SUDDENLY says she is unhappy with her husband and her two kids (5 and 3) after the husband finds out she is having an affair. Seems like her ENTIRE personality has changed -- no warning signs, no hints of unhappiness. Did she have a mental breakdown? A meltdown? Did she snap? My question: is there a way you can force someone to go to a therapist in ANY case? And what just happened???

Mid life crisis....and watching shows like cougar town and desperate housewives.

Cheating and having casual sex is glorified for woman nowadays.

Sadly I have some experience with this.

My lawyer informed me that in MA you couldn't force someone to seek treatment for apparent mental illness unless they were a danger to themself or others. From the information you provided that doesn't seem to be the case.
