I wish someone understood my pain
      #702865 - 10/31/10 08:47 PM

I recently had to leave my husband because of a mentally and sometime abusive relationship of 3 years and when I left I took my doggy with me which I love very much but as I knew how much I loved him I was not able to care for him the way my ex would because he was not eating , sleeping, doing anything he would do at his own house and he was looking for my ex I felt I couldn't be selfish and returned him to my ex ... the problem is that me and my ex will not be able to be on friendly terms and he will never let me see my dog again....I don't know where to turn and who to talk to anymore I been depressed and sad over missing him and wants to know if someone can understand what I am going thru and help me out... my friends and family has talk to me but as they don't have animal they keep telling me it will be okay I don't feel okay and the hurt is unbearable wanting to cry all the time I just want the pain that I know will never go away..

I have quite an attachment to my animals. My 2 horses, for example. If I had to be without them, it would hurt beyond belief. They are 2 of my best friends. We also have an older pit bull, she's 7 now, who is starting to have complications from heartworms. When we lose her, it will break my heart. And you can never replace an animal you are close to. Some people say anything is able to be replaced, I think those people are pretty darn selfish and shallow.

I tried being normal once. Worst five minutes of my life.

I am sorry. I also have strong attachment to my dogs, but they are replaceable. Seeking visitation scheduled with animals. which I have seen in divorce decrees, is often ridiculously expensive and foolish. Choose battles wisely.

Time to visit an animal rescue and have a dog rescue you!

My husband couldn't have kids, so my cats are my kids. I struggled to find housing with pets but worth every hard moment to keep them.

That's so sad.... I have 1 question for you.. if you don't mind.

Are you sure you are just missing your doggy and not your husband?

Well, no pain will last forever, you should move on because you know your dog is happy with your husband right now. :)
