What happens if stbx doesn't show in court?

Can anyone tell me what may happen if my stbx doesn't show up at the final hearing? He is super passive-aggressive and has a lot to lose, such as health insurance, once the divorce is final. It's in his best interest to drag this out for that reason and others. I am using a lawyer, but am wondering if the divorce could be finalized without his appearance.
