witness/affidavit question

i have two witnesses to my upcoming case that can testify verbally but they would like to sign a sworn affidavit about their statement because they both have to work the day of my case.Can they do that instead of miss work? will the judge except that?

Depends on the judge. The ones in my court demand that witnesses be present period. That's something you should probably find out ahead of time.

I would want them to show up. If they aren't in court, they can't be cross-examined, and I'd be afraid that opposing counsel could cheapen their testimony, and they wouldn't be there to stand behind it.
