Hello from California!!!
      #7684 - 01/15/05 08:39 PM

I'm in Northern CA....South Bay to be more specific....divorced since late '99....CP with sole legal and physical of 2 teenagers. Things are touch and go...it became a hostile and "high conflict" divorce due to anger issues and what I believe were some untreated mentel health issues of ex's. Also, quite litigious since ex unsuccessfully tried to eliminate support a few months after divorce was final and then a year later physically abused children, losing his visitation and even more money.

Tell us about you!!!

I'm in Northeastern Cali. Lassen County. Gettin divorced, CP, two kids, 15 & 17 who are just awesome! I try to tell them that at least once a day. We are pretty much done with the MSA. Just need him to give up a little bit of his military retirement. Then we should be all done. Wish me luck!!

p.s. I turned 38 yesterday. Don't really feel that old.

You're NOT old!!!!! [Re: Diane67]

And best of luck to you...hope you get all you're entitled to. I got my 25% of ex's Civil Service Retirement....I can't wait for him to retire. He's eligible this summer, and he always said he's going out as soon as he was eligible, but he can work until 55 (mandatory)...so I'm guessing he will just to prevent me from getting my hands on my share any sooner than necessary.

So you're trying to tell me that 38 is just a number?

I also went on my first date this past weekend. Seems like a nice guy. Wish me luck!

my hell yes it is just a number ..like 46..lol Besides I honestly believe that women really are like wine. If it was a good wine to start with ...gets better with age. As to your date luv...remember back to when you met the ex... "seems like a nice guy".....lmao

It's scary...I know. My SO since after the divorce and I did the long distance thing...so dates were not really traditional. But we've been together here now for 5 years...so no longer dating!

"so no longer dating"...I have to disagree with you luv...I think its when you stop "dating" that things go downhill. Dont you wonder sometimes..that if we treated eachother with the same courtesy and respect that we did when we first met...how many divorces there would be??

I get your point [Re: aussie928]
      #7857 - 01/19/05 08:01 PM

well...the "dates" aren't of the old "official" type...but the respect and courtesy are unheard of. I must brag that he doesn't fart or burp in front of anyone...especially me. Aw....isn't that the sweetest thing?

A date, I would define as meeting someone, or going with someone to do something. Could be to the movies, dancing, drinks, a meal, a hike, a walk on the beach, etc. Just getting away by yourselves for a few hours. You could even have a date in your own house as long as the kids are asleep or at a sleep over.

Loose definition, I know, but I was getting a little desperate for adult male contact. Just conversation. Nothing naughty. Maybe after a few more "dates."
