So, we are trying to get a mutual agreed upon divorce, cut and dry.. in the shortest amount of time possible. My question is, he, the service member is stationed in NC but his home of record is in WA state. Can we file in WA? I have recently relocated to CA and have not established my CA residency, so it would be easier to go to WA state to file. Does anyone know if we can do this? Or do I have to go to NC or wait for my residency in CA. BTW, he is on det.. so he can't really file from where he is.

If either one of you meet the residency criteria for filing for divorce in WA, the other can acknowledge service and waive venue and jurisdiction and the uncontested divorce can be granted in WA.
