I have been married to my husband for 12 years, and we have 3 children ages 11, 7, & 5. Through out our entire relationship people outside of our relationship have told me that he treats me badly or verbally abuses me. I've even lost friendships over it. Up until now, it was hard for me to see it. I was living in a fog, and we would go through cycles of good and bad. As soon as things got so ugly that I couldn't take it, everything would be calm for a while. We've had a soapera marriage for sure. The last few months I've grown more and more disconnected from our relationship. He's slept on the couch for a month, and I have no interest of desire for physical intimacy. On one hand, I feel bad because he has been trying to suggest things for us to do together, but I can't seem to make myself be interested. I did ask him to go to counseling with me, and he refused. We've been a few other times in the past, and it was only a temporary fix, he is using that as his reasoning. I'm living in a state with no real support of family or friends. His family is local and mine is 1200 miles away. I need help knowing . . .When and how do you know it is really over? In the past we've rebounded from affairs and all kinds of things. But I just really think I was living in denile. Is it normal to always have divorce in the back of your head as an option? Lately I have it on my mind constantly, but the reality is scary!!
