When we say run, we just mean get away from him and stay away from him. It doesn't matter if this is his first time trying to kill you (yes, that's what he was doing). He will do it again IF you let him back into your life. Is he sweet talking you? Saying he's sorry? Promising you the sun, moon and stars? That's what abusers do. He'll play nice for a little while and then the abuse will start all over again. He'll put you down, not let you see your friends (b/c they'll tell you things like we're telling you here), and generally isolate you from everyone that cares about you...except for him, b/c he's your one true friend and no one could possibly love you as much as he does (or so he'll tell you.)

Just keep him out of your life.
