I only THOUGHT I was smart. I don't disagree with you. There were a bunch of things I would have worded differently had I gotten better advice.

I didn't engage an attorney until AFTER my divorce was final and I was in over my head.

What I did say was that it all depends on how the settlement is written. And that is absolutely true. It can be written in any number of ways that makes it tougher or easier for one party or another to change the support.
