I am not sure what you mean when you refer to " a lot of variables would also have to be in place". Some clarification on that would be helpful. As I stated in my post, the retiree "may have to pay". I am fully aware of the differences in the way individual states may rule on each individual case. I am not sure what type of "link" you are interested in. Could you elaborate on this? This is a very recent ruling from a Court of Appeals case. All of the "old faithful" cases such as Mansell, Scheidel vs Scheidel, Re: Marriage of Pierce etc. along with others have been used in reference to this particular case. This type of ruling has been a longtime in the making and the judges should be commended for doing the right thing in these types of cases. Hopefully soon, more states will follow suit and do the right thing.
