How can you possibly expect to help people or add to conversation if you don't present any factual information to back up your statements? The fact is, your case affects only people in your state. That is how divorce/family law works. And even then ONLY if it has been heard by the court of appeals, substantially moreso if heard by the state supreme court (or they declined to overturn the decision). Any other state in the U.S. is not bound by that decision, even if upheld by the U.S. Supreme court - because each state is entitled to make their own divorce laws. Many judges will give consideration to opinions from other states, but they aren't bound by them. So an opinion in a different state certainly could be helpful to someone, if not making their case. Now if you are referring to policy statement by DFAS, that could be something that affects everyone. "Everyone" will never know since you have declined to post any information that would be at all helpful.
