Nursing school was a long, hard road. I suffered. My H suffered. The kids suffered. Poverty really sucks and I certainly hope I never have to eat another hot dog, ramen noodles, or spaghetti without meatballs again!
But, the sacrifice is paying off. We are a family that can now "do" instead of "dreaming about doing". It's a good place to be. She just wants to rain on my parade. But, trust me, she's not gonna bring me down. I have worked way to hard to get here.
Melanie, what was the first purchase you made after graduating? I've been out of school for about 5 months and haven't bought anything yet. Not even a new outfit! We still live in a trailer and I'm driving a mini-van that is on it's last legs. We were planning to build next year, but I went out house-hunting today and fell in love. Six bedrooms, 3 baths, and a full basement. It's gorgeous! Three years ago, it would have been the kind of house that I said, "Man, I would love to live there!". Now, I can actually afford to live in it. It still hasn't sunk in how a few years and hard work has made that big of a difference in my life.
