Oh, I'm sorry. Link for confirmation, please? Anyway...where have I been? Well, hon...right here...earning that minimum of twelve percent less all day, every day, forty hours a week for seventeen years. That's where. Ummmmmmm...it adds up, dear.
As for illegal questions vs. whether they happen to, erm, slip out, please see the other posters' responses above.
ETA: Also...I thought (but could be wrong about this? Again--link to studies if you could?) that DOL stats are based on salaries across the board...not job-for-job.
Edited again: A link. http://www.bls.gov/ro1/womenswagene.pdf Scroll down...it starts out specific to the New England states, but then there's a graph, showing the U.S. totals at 80.3% of men's in 2004. Since 2006 stats are nowhere near out yet (for obvious reasons), would you have us here believe women's salaries closed this gap by 6-8% in ONE year alone (by the end of 2005)? OMG, you're right, where the hell HAVE I been? Wish I'd seen this increase.
So I'll ask you the same question. Where have YOU been? And again. Where did you get your figures, or did you just put them in to prove someone wrong and hoped she wouldn't follow up? GOD that's annoying.
