I'm sorry you're going through this. My D's BF got ugly when we went through the CS Process, threatening all kinds of things... fortunately, one thing he never was was abusive. Just blustery. Do you have a lawyer? It isn't really necessary to have one for most things, but I found having one to be incredibly helpful, if only because he was a non-emotionally-involved party, so while my D's BF got all blustery in court (even made one of the court clerks cry, he was so nasty) I didn't say anything unless I was asked a direct question by the hearing examiner. That made it a lot easier for me.
Do you currently have a formal visitation order? If so, make sure you follow it to the letter. Your ex isn't the first to file for a custody change when CS is enforced, and he won't be the last. Fortunately, the courts see this enough to know it when they see it (most of the time, anyway) Changing custody is hard. You'd basically have to be proven to be unfit, and that is not an easy thing to do unless you've been caught selling drugs or got a DUI with the child in the car. Even that sometimes isn't enough.
Sorry I don't have more advice for you... just work on ways to keep calm. Use them when dealing with your ex, and use them while in court. Document everything, and show your lawyer anything you have. Good luck!
