Those ups and downs drive me crazy too. When I heard ex was bringing "someone" to his dinner with my kids I freaked out (kind of--tried to stay rational for their sakes) then a few hours later realized I really didn't care that much. I have no claim on him and he's free to do whatever.

Talked to a friend the same evening and we were guessing whether or not they were serious, what kind of person she was, etc. I really don't want to let that take up my energy. I asked the kids very little about their dinner, just heard that they didn't enjoy it much. I do wonder if he has any idea that he made them pretty uncomfortable.

I really don't want ex back either, but still feel sad about the breakup of our family. Also feel sad sometimes about being rejected but have had enough time to pull myself back up and realize I'm ok on my own.

Glad your days got better TABB. Good thing the downs are usually followed by ups!
