Thank-you all...your prayers are being heard where it counts. Dad is doing better, and they're holding off on surgery.

Funny thing...the surgeon who came in today to talk to him was the same one who operated on me 30 years ago...I told him and he laughed and said, "Don't say that too loudly around here." So there's age-ism in every business!

I'll be back in a couple of days, but I wanted to let you know things were looking up.

In many ways, it's like having a sick spouse. I've lived with my father for the last ten years...since my divorce. In return for the roof over our heads at a very reduced rent, I've kept the house up, something my father had not been able to do on his own. When he goes, and I have to move, it will be like losing the economic status of a spouse to divorce or death. I've been very lucky in that respect, and while I'm not looking for it to happen any times soon, I know it's probably just around the corner. Just, not this corner, I hope.
