They did something like injured spouse or something with mine. They divided the taxes up to 50/50 and I still had to pay 1/2 of what he owed. I still had to pay 1/2, because I was married to him. As soon as you said I do, you became liable. You really need to hire a professional, if not, they will take it all from you, who ever is the easier target. Don't screw with them. I am talking from personal experience. Get that divorce final asap, that stops you being held on future taxes and stuff. The longer it drags out the more you will owe.
