Thank you Debbie for the kind words, you hit everything right on the mark. I know it’s hard for someone to get the complete picture and make the right call without having all the facts. But it’s difficult to explain everything that’s taken place in a format where folks don’t want to read an entire novel. Especially when dealing with complex issues such as divorce.
I’m also a very passionate person by nature, and this is a very personal issue for me. So when someone makes an assumption about me that couldn’t be farther from the truth, (such as “I hate to tell you that you won't be able to sit home and do nothing”), I get very defensive about it and tend to lash out. I’m not saying that’s the right thing to do, it’s just something that I need to work on. I also must admit that as my wife pointed out, I’m not always the happiest guy in the world these days. And there are times when I hurt so much that I let the pain control my life in many ways. Chronic pain can have a really nasty effect on a person’s temperament...and I’m no exception. I tried my best to keep my mouth shut and stick to business when I was dealing with the G.M. I spoke of. I loved that job and had never been fired in my life, so I didn’t want to start at that point. But I had seen and heard too much, and it got the better of me.
I’m sure Melody and I may not agree on some points, but I think we’re more on the same page than we were at the beginning. And I do apologize to her and anyone else if I came across in a bad way, regardless of what side of the fence they’re on.
