BuckEye,

Define functional........ I did it with my son. He had severe reflux and would stop breathing due to choking. He was on a heart monitor for 8 months and it would beep to let me know he'd quite breathing..... He then got RSV and Asthma and due to the medication he slept in 15 minute intervals for the first 6 months of his life. He had to sleep in his carrier between hubby and I. He only slept during the "white noise" recording I did of the vaccum cleaner and it was 15 minute tape... one side... so he would sleep and then wake up.. so we would have to change it over to the other side.

6 months into it... I literally walked into the Dr's office with him in my arms... walked straight TO his office and handed him to the Dr... I was at the point of committing major oops....The Dr sat me down and I was crying my head off... I did NOT like this child at all....around the 7th month he started sleeping in like 30 min. increments and by 7 and 1/2 he slep through the night!
