I was in your position...married 17 years...stay at home mom for the last 10. No income, 2 small kids, no self-esteem (he took care of that)...so I couldn't do anything. Also, I was in a kind of haze where I didn't see how miserable I was because I wasn't seeing the situation as it was. There was finally an epiphany where all was revealed to me and I realized what had been happening. I seems that you've already had your awakening, but now need to figure out how to do it. Well, it took me almost 6 months to actually do it. I had my epiphany in July, and things started to change around the house...my demeanor and attitude, for one. I didn't confide in my H any more....less communication....took better care of myself....got a job....began to reach out to others and found a support system. Then, as incidents occurred, I grew more and more convinced that I needed to end this. Finally, one night, it was the right time and I just told him I couldn't be married any more. It was the best decision I'd ever made in my life.
