He makes $100k and can't afford $2900 a month in SS and CS. With your $26k and the $36k you are asking for, you will be living on $62k and he'll be living on $60k a year. How come he can't afford to live on that as ONE person, but you can afford to live on it, supporting THREE people?

The numbers seem fair and equitable in my eyes.

YOu don't say how old these kids are...are they still young enough to need child care?

Obviously, you are going to have to go to work full time. Perhaps you can get SS on a sliding scale...as as your income increases, his decreases.

Antoher thing you might want to consider. I built into my decree that my ex and I each take equal time off to care for sick kids. So if I took Monday off, he had to take Tuesday off. That helps with your career getting off of the ground.

Workplace discrimination against older women is very, very real...so I would not back down from seeking AMPLE SS. Beginning a career at almost 40 or 50 years old with young kids at home...sorry, but the statistics speak for themselves.

is the $120k in home equity all of the equity or is he also getting equity in the home? What about retirement accounts accumulated during the marriage?
