Just last week a friend of mine was in court with his X who moved the kids 40 miles away, changed schools, etc. without notifying my friend. The judge in his case is EXTREMLY Po'd at the X and requested that the children see a counselor and said whatever the children prefer will be highly weighted. The children in this case are 7 and 5.

Of course the fact that the mother told the Judge that she didn't think all(counselor and childrens preference) of that was necessary or that moving the kids from the only school neighborhood and friends they have ever know was a big deal, didn't help her at all.
