With Federal retirement OPM will not accept a QDRO. You must have a COAP (court order acceptable for processing) prepared and OMP must review it and accept it. They are very picky with the wording and I've been told it can take months to get it through OPM if you don't know what you are doing. Make sure you have someone experienced with preparing a COAP draw it up.
