After being out of the job market for 10 plus years and I am just putting my foot back in working FT at an entry level position. I gave up a FT job to be a Stay at home mother, over 10 years ago- then I was making $22,000/year- it I would have stayed in it I would be making more than the $26k I make now and I could have gotten a free education at that particular job.

Yup , guess what ? It's not alimony . That is why my advice was to ask for an unequal amount of assets in equitable distribution , not spousal support . The rehabilitative maintenance statutes are very clear . If you insist on leaving it up to a judge to decide , you should know what to ask for . The best thing you can do is come to a reasonable agreement with your STBX that you can both live with . Do you even know what assets you'll be splitting ?
