I'm the same.
I plan on joining a club.
I used to train retrievers in my younger days and was in a club for that and remember there were a lot of nice people and always a lot of help and work we all did for each other.
So my suggestion is to renew a hobby. In my case, I definitely won't get a dog as I will have tavel home to see my kids, but several will want my help with the work that is involved in dog training.
So even if you can't participate fully in the club or activity, there will be the benefits of the friendships made. Anyway, that is my plan "today", but I do think it takes people to help and a lot time.
