you could try www.zabasearch.com which is a free search engine to put their names, city or state in.

my sister had faced a similar situation when the father of her child did not want to be in the picture.
her husband ended up adopting also.

it makes for difficult times.

good luck to you and I hope that she will be receptive of having the grandparents in the child's life again.
