I'm sorry your x took you to the cleaners. I hope you're rebuilding your financial life.

Coming from you, the opinion about what I'm entitled to packs quite a punch. What if I really, really don't want alimony? Are you saying that when I look at our financial picture I should consider our assets minus debts, plus both our incomes for the rest of our working lives? If that's the case then I AM asking for less than half. But since half the current assets would be enough, I don't think I'd be willing to fight very hard to ensure that my x came away w/ less than I have. I wish it were over, & it hasn't even begun!
