OTR,
I think you are fishing in the wrong places.
Our yacht club caters to couples and their children. People join for the kid's swim team, sailing lessons, and overall it is cheaper than daycare for everyday of the summer...
If 50% of the marriages end in divorce that means there are lots of divorced guys out there.
Pick one of your interests that are more "guy related" and get involved.
I haven't time for men yet but I seem to have interests that have guys involved.
For instance, I am doing lots of home improvement projects right now. I do not have a lot of money. I started a local network for swapping my "excess": molding, plumbing supplies, wood, etc.. I told a couple of contractors, some of my friends through Habitat for Humanity and a couple of friends who work at Home Depot and we now have over 400 people registered! About 80% are guys and more than half are single (they have more time for hobbies than their married counterparts).
We barter, borrow, trade, and buy from each other. Two weeks ago, one fellow had an old-fashioned barn raising. We helped put up the frame of his house out past the Hamptons on the water. He threw one heck of a beach party afterwards.
I also go to these things w/ friends. I am NOT looking but I have made new friends and their help has been invaluable. My EX took every tool w/ him when he left and much of the "finishing" work on the house is "unfinished".
Get involved w/ something you love that way if/when you meet someone you will know that you already have something in common.
